Rich Rautenstrauch/Chieftain Firefighters spray water on a fuel storage tank Friday afternoon at an Elk Mountain Road residence located about two miles north of Enterprise. Smoke can be seen rising from the nearby ground where fire has completely destroyed an outbuilding.

Fire destroyed a small outbuilding early Friday afternoon.

Fire departments from the cities of Joseph and Enterprise were dispatched to the blaze around 1:30 p.m., and when crews arrived at the scene, one of their top concerns was to protect an above-ground fuel storage tank near the burning shed, which was already fully involved in flame. Firefighters maintained a steady stream of water on the tank until the danger passed.

The Jan. 9 incident occurred at 68865 Elk Mountain Road.
