SOUTH COAST — Coos County sheriff’s deputies arrested Connie Bates, the camp host of Nesika County Park, on Tuesday for unlawful use of a weapon, domestic menacing, menacing and second-degree disorderly conduct.

The Sheriff’s Office responded around 5:35 p.m. to a report of Bates being intoxicated, chasing her husband around the campground and menacing other campers with a stick. She was being “too assaultive to jail staff to complete the booking process,” according to a press release.

Bates, 53, of Coos Bay is being held on $50,000 bail.

No photograph was available.

“She was threatening the deputies and not cooperating with booking,” said Sgt. Pat Downing, with the Sheriff’s Office. “Sometime today they’ll finish booking her.”
