Columnist Rick Gosselin held a chat on Monday. Here are highlights from the chat.
Question: Watching the Eagles yesterday it appeared to me that their DL and OL play is superior to the Cowboys which will be a problem. Did you get a chance to look at that game?
Gosselin: I watched that game. The Eagles have the most talented roster in the NFC East right now, especially with the way Nick Foles is playing. The defense is turning it up a notch as well with 13 sacks in their last four games. The Cowboys pass rush seems to be slowing down with five sacks in the last four games. The Cowboys are fortunate they have the home field in the finale. That could be the difference in that game.
Question: Is Terrance Williams in a slump or has he settled in to where he will always be, performance wise?
Gosselin: Young receiver still trying to figure out the NFL. He had some big games early when there wasn’t much tape on him. But the more tape you produce,m the more a defense can study you and figure out what you can and can’t do. He’s being forced to work his way through better coverage plans. He’ll get better with experience.
Question: With Smith, Leary, Frederick, Bernadeaux and Free in the OL. Where do you see the weakness in this group?
Gosselin: I think the interior is still a bit soft. Leary and Frederick lack experience and Bernadeau is a journeyman. Losing Waters was big because of the toughness, physicality and experience he brought to this line.
