OBITUARY: Ora Mae Hutchison

Services for Ora Mae Hutchison, 77, of Enterprise, who died May 25, 2013, are scheduled for Saturday, Aug. 10, 2013, at the LDS Church in Enterprise. Lunch will follow at the VFW Hall.

Ora Mae Hutchison was born in Centralia, Wash., and grew up during the tail end of the depression and WWII. She lived all over the west coast from southern California to Washington to Hawaii.

She met and married her first husband, Glenn Gray, and had five children. As a Coast Guard wife, she moved up and down the Oregon coast from station to station. They were stationed at Haceta Head lighthouse for many years.

She later divorced and met her second husband, Dan Hudson. With Dan she had three children and lived in the Portland area. During this time she worked as a cook in many of the local restaurants while raising nine children.

In 1971 she moved to Hermiston-Stanfield area and continued working at local restaurants and bars. After divorcing Dan Hudson, she worked and raised her children as a single parent for several years.

She later met and married James Hutchison. Ora Mae continued to live in the Hermiston area until 1983 when she moved back to Silverton. She worked as a seamstress for Watershed Inc. until she retired. She continued to live in Silverton till 2006 when she moved to Enterprise.

Ora Mae was active in the LDS church for most of her life. She was also active in the Crafters Guild and the Ladies Auxiliary to the VFW. Ora Mae passed away at home after a long battle with congestive heart failure.

Ora Mae is survived by sons William Gray of Springfield and Kim Hutchison of Enterprise; daughters Theresa Gray of Irrigon, Barbara MacDonald of Irrigon, and Nava Demaris and Pearl Hettwer, both of Silverton . Ora Mae is also survived by numerous grand and great-grandchildren.
