Marika Straw, the daughter of Michael and Deborah Straw, Joseph, was awarded a bachelor of arts degree magna cum laude in anthropology from Lawrence University in Appleton, Wis.

She graduated June 9 at the colleges 164th commencement.

A member of Phi Beta Kappa, a national honors society that recognizes exceptional achievement, Straw is a 2009 graduate of West Salem High School.
