Wallowa Countys inaugural track meet, the Joseph-Enterprise Ice Breaker, is scheduled to get underway on the Joseph track at 11 a.m. this Friday, March 22 if the weather cooperates.

Last year the first-time meet was cancelled because of wintery, first-of-spring weather, but host coaches John Roberts of Joseph and Dan Moody of the Enterprise/Wallowa team were optimistic early in the week that the meet will be able to go on this year.

Five teams are set to compete in this break-the-ice-in-spring meet, which will probably see many thin clads missing because of such things as the State FFA Convention in Corvallis and spring vacation.

Teams which are pParticipating are Joseph, Enterprise-Wallowa, Irrigon, Imbler and Elgin.

Field events are scheduled at 11 a.m., with running events, which could be moved up, at 1 p.m.
