The for-profit arm of Enterprise-based Wallowa Resources has received a $50,000 grant from Meyer Memorial Trust to further its efforts at the Integrated Biomass Energy Campus west of the city of Wallowa.

Nils Christoffersen, executive director of Wallowa Resources, says funds from the grant will be used to help upgrade the heat and electricity generating facility at the site. Wallowa Resources for-profit entity, Community Solutions Inc., owns that operation and sells electricity and some heat to the campuss primary occupant, Integrated Biomass Resources (IBR).

IBR sells wood products made from waste recovered from forest restoration and thinning projects.

Money from the grant will be used to finish the building that houses Community Solutions heat and power plant, improve the in-feed system at the plant, and get a second generatoralready paid for and on siteinstalled and operational.
