On his wedding day, Gordon wins Wallowa Lake Triathlon

Michael Gordon, of Walla Walla, Wash., was the individual winner of the 2nd annual Wallowa Lake Triathlon, held Saturday morning.
Gordon was first across the finish line, but his unofficial time was not immediately available. (See the Sept. 19 issue of the Chieftain for competitors’ times.)
Gordon was wearing a necktie during his three-mile run, a symbol of the more important event in his life coming up later in the day — his marriage at Wallowa Lake to another competitor in this morning’s triathlon, Kara Nielsen.
