William (Bill) Tippett of Joseph died Sept. 2, 2012, at the age of 48.

He was the son of Gennave Tippett of Heppner and the late Alvin Tippett of Joseph. He was born in Enterprise.

Bill had a great love for the outdoors. He was known for his fence-building abilities in the rugged Imnaha area. He had a special love for rafting the Snake River in Hells Canyon. Back in the day he loved running cougars and bear with his hounds. He had many friends and never knew a stranger.

Bill is survived by his mother Gennave, brother Rick, sister Shelly, three nephews, two nieces, one great-nephew and one great-niece. He was preceded in death by his grandparents and father Alvin.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made at the Community Bank or Bollman Funeral Home.
