ENTERPRISE The first tenants have moved into Wallowa Countys new medical office building, Parkway Health and Wellness Center, which opened for business Monday, July 2, just west of Wallowa Memorial Hospital.

Winding Waters Clinic is now seeing patients in its modern new home, while Dr. Kenneth Rose has also opened his office there.

The physical therapy department plans to move from the hospital into the new building as soon as a telephone glitch is solved, according to Wallowa County Health Care Clinic CEO Dave Harman.

Harman said that the Wallowa County Center for Wellness plans to expand into its new suite of offices the first of August. The center will continue to also occupy its headquarters building on SW 1st Street in Enterprise.

Its great, Harman said of the new structure, which has been at least two years in the planning and construction stages. The building is nicely designed and well built. I think the interior is well coordinated. All the tenants seem happy. Im thrilled with it.

Its gorgeous, agreed Lea Harris, who works in the office at Winding Waters Clinic and was enjoying the first day in its new quarters Monday. I love the woodwork and the view is amazing.

Site preparation on the 14,200-sq.-ft. structure started in May 2011. The building, which cost a total of approximately $5.4 million, is owned by Wallowa Valley Health Care District and partially leased to Winding Waters and others to cover the cost. In addition to money the district invested in the project, it was financed through a bank loan. The hospital will also use a portion of the space for physical therapy, freeing up space in the main hospital building.

Andersen Construction, which is also the contractor on the assisted living/residential care building now in progress, was in charge of construction.
