Enterprise Outlaws got back in their groove Friday and Saturday in their games against Union and Elgin, bringing their record up to 5-8 overall and 2-2 in their league.
“In the Union game, we did what we needed to do, and we saw the results from it,” head coach Steve Lear said. The boys worked together as a team throughout the game, and they put 60 points on the board against Union’s 48.
Senior Marcus Lynn and junior Cody Duquette performed at the top of their game, earning 22 and 20 points, respectively, of the Outlaws’ final total. Following them were: sophomore Damon Greenshields, eight points; junior Jordan Wulff-Castilleja, three points; junior Dustin Dean, three points; junior Joseph Harshman, two points; and senior Duncan Christman, two points.
In the first quarter of the game against Elgin, the Outlaws played the best basketball they have all season, according to Lear. In the second half, the Huskies started to come back at the Outlaws, reducing their lead to only three points at the third quarter’s end. The Enterprise team held them off, managing to earn the win with a final score of 61-57.
Lynn had another stellar game, putting 27 points on the board, followed by Duquette, who scored 11. Others who contributed to the final score were Wulff-Castilleja, eight points; Greenshields, seven points; Dean, five points; Harshman, two points; and Christman, one point.
The Outlaws will travel to Athena to play against Weston-McEwen on Friday, Jan. 13, at 7:30 p.m. They will then host Pilot Rock at Quinn Court on Saturday, Jan. 14 at 5:30 p.m.
