ENTERPRISE – New restrooms are in the works for the Enterprise City Park. The parks committee is working on improvements to the city park and new restrooms are at the top of the wish list.
The committee met Wednesday morning, Nov. 16, to discuss progress on an Oregon Parks Department grant that could pay up to 80 percent of the cost of new restrooms. The committee looked at several options for pre-fabricated restroom buildings with costs around $40,000.

The existing park restroom building was part of the city’s swimming pool, which was closed and filled over in 2003. The old swimming pool restrooms are still in use but have reached a state of disrepair and would be demolished if funding is secured for a new facility.
“The restrooms at the park now are becoming a safety issue,” said Enterprise mayor Steve Lear.
Public works director Ron Neil suggested the location of the new restrooms to be more centrally located in the park, just west of the tennis courts.
The grant application for the new restrooms is due in February and will be awarded in late spring or early summer, according to city administrator Michele Young.
