Margery L. Prince, 96, a lifelong resident of Wallowa County and one of the county’s oldest natives, passed away Nov.14, 2011, at a care facility in The Dalles.

She was born in the Powwatka area on Oct. 18, 1915, the youngest of six children born to Herman and Harriett (Blow) Fischer. She grew up in Lostine, graduating from Lostine High School.

Margery married John Edward Prince on Oct. 1, 1934. She lived in Wallowa County until June of 2011. She was a member of the Christian Church and Ladies Auxiliary in Wallowa County. She enjoyed crocheting, quilting and was a great cook.

She is survived by her children, Dolores Evans of Stayton, Shirley Rimbey of The Dalles, Lola Moore of Beaverton, Gene Prince of The Dalles and Sharon Chopp of Newport; 10 grandchildren and numerous great-great-grandchildren and great-great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband and parents.

She will be interred at the Wallowa Cemetery, with Spencer, Libby and Powell Funeral Home in care of arrangements.
