ENTERPRISE Wallowa Memorial Hospital was recently named one of the top 100 critical access hospitals in the country.
The announcement was made at the National Rural Health Associations 10th annual Critical Access Hospital Conference, held at the end of September in Kansas City, Mo.
Dave Harman, WMHs CEO, was attending the conference at the time of the announcement.
The top 100, including NRHA member Wallowa Memorial Hospital, scored best on the iVantage Health Analytics Hospital Strength Index. In this first-ever comprehensive rating of critical access hospitals, the results recognize hospitals that score highest across 56 performance metrics, including quality, outcomes, patient perspective, affordability and efficiency.
The National Rural Health Association is proud that the efforts of Wallowa Memorial Hospital have been recognized by this nationwide analysis and ranking, said Alan Morgan, NRHA CEO. Rural hospitals play such a critical role in providing needed care to the 62 million Americans who call rural home, yet our challenges are completely different in access while equally complex in delivery as urban hospitals.
In addition to the hospital in Enterprise, Oregon hospitals included in the national top 100 included facilities in La Grande, Hermiston, Cottage Grove, Florence, Tillamook, Hood River and Miller.
