JOSEPH – Those who contributed to the Wallowa County Museum expansion project over the past couple years will have their first chance to see the new part of the museum at an open house set from 1 to 4 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 22. The public is invited.
The event will be hosted by the Friends of the Wallowa County Museum and the Wallowa County Museum board. It will be held at the old Joseph fire hall, which was transformed into archive, research and exhibit space this summer by contractor Tom VanBelle, thanks to grants and donations from many donors.
The open house will feature cider and homemade donuts, tours of the new museum space and a demonstration of an antique printing press that was once used at the Chieftain. The museum is closed for the season, but a Grand Opening is planned for next year before the museum opens for the summer at the end of May.
