Wanda Mae Powers

Wanda Mae Powers, 87, of The Dalles, died Thursday, Sept. 29, 2011.

She was born in Elgin, the oldest of eight children to George H. and Lahrena (Dale) Yarington.

She is survived by her daughters, Sarafae Winheim and her husband Jerry of Crooked River, and Wanda Barnill and her husband Clyde of Rockaway Beach; her sister, Lahrena Lunsford and her husband Don; three grandsons; two step-grandsons; three step-granddaughters; 19 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by husband Warren G. Powers, her parents, brothers Duane, Gail and George, and sisters Vida, Norma and Lois.

Private cremation was held at Win-Quatt Crematory in The Dalles with Spencer, Libby and Powell Funeral Home in care of arrangements.

Inurnment will be held at Willamette National Cemetery with her husband Warren.

At her request no services will be held. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to a charity of your choice in her name.
