Joseph fourth grader Madelyn Nelson shows off the huge pumpkin she received as a prize for growing the biggest cabbage in her class (8 lbs. 9 oz.) in the Magic Garden at Joseph School. Robin Martin (with microphone), Magic Garden project coordinator, announced Maddie as the winner at the full-house community harvest dinner Sept. 28. Martin said that 4,000 volunteer hours and 52 community partners were involved in making the garden project a success. Other receiving awards were top student volunteers, Rene Seal and Josef Ramirez, and community volunteer Angie Rubin. Janie Tippett was recognized for loaning property for an extended garden near Imnaha.
