CJD kiddie parade draws creative entries

The popular Chief Joseph Days “kiddie” parade featured dozens of imaginative entries Friday morning, July 29, with a sunny sky overhead and a big audience lining both sides of Main Street in Joseph.
“What I really liked about it is that we had truly individual entries this year. There were no repeats,” said Dianne Witherrite, who was serving as chairman of the event for the 27th year. Witherrite, the CJD Queen back in 1983, was helped by a crew of volunteers, including her mother, Nancy Waters of Joseph.
Parade grand prize winner was Jaycee Campbell, who rode in the Riding division with a green face and red hair as “Princess Fiona on a Donkey.” She won a mountain bicycle from Coca Cola Distributing.
Other division winners won $15 for first place, $10 second place and $5 third. Sponsors are Ted Hays Signs and CJD Rodeo Inc.

CJD Junior Parade Winners
