Let wounded soldier know that we care

A 2003 Joseph High School graduate, U.S. Army Sergeant Chris Garrett, continues to make good progress in what figures to be rather lengthy physical rehabilitation process, according to the soldiers father, Joseph resident Vern Garrett.

The father said his son, who faces another 12-14 weeks in the hospital, has been able to get on his crutches several times. The bones in his pelvis, though, have sustained so much crumbling caused by a large-caliber bullet that traveled through, Sgt. Garrett will have to spend considerable time in a wheelchair during the next several months.
