Marilyn Jean Wood of Lostine died June 18, 2011, at the age of 71.

She was born May 13, 1940, to Bevel and Marjorie Swift.

She is described as a compassionate person who was always ready to help people in need and touched the lives of many patients she took care of as a nurse, as well as her family and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents and by her husband, George Edward Wood.

Marilyn is survived by her three sons and their families, Mike and Tami Wood of Lostine, Jerry and Anne Wood of Yakima, Wash., Jim and Heather Wood of Milton-Freewater; and nine grandchildren.
