ENTERPRISE – Veterans in rural areas will be able to sign up for a new online benefits website without having to travel to Portland to enroll thanks to a series of office hours scheduled at locations around the state.

In Enterprise, the office hour will be from 1:45-2:45 p.m. Wednesday, April 27, at the Wallowa County Veterans Services Office, 104 Litch St.

Through the eBenefits website veterans can, among other services, access service records; apply for VA benefits; track claim and appeal status; view payment history; request information from state and federal agencies; and determine eligibility for healthcare and home loan programs.

To gain full access to eBenefits, veterans should bring with them any two forms of the following to the office-hour location: driver’s license, Social Security card, passport, birth certificate, DD214, DOD identification card, or VA identification card.

The office hour will be staffed by Cody Standiford, an aid to Rep. Greg Walden (Rep.-Ore.), and Brian Gunther, a veterans service representative from the Portland VA Regional Office.

The opportunity for veterans to sign up at the local office came about through the collaboration of Walden and the Portland VA Regional Office.
