Easter eggs await eager collectors

The Easter bunny will be hip-hopping into Wallowa County Saturday, scattering Easter eggs around for the countys youngsters to find.

At 10 a.m. Joseph area children are invited to gather at the Joseph City Park for the traditional egg hunt sponsored by the Joseph Chamber of Commerce. Hunters will be divided into three egg divisions to give everyone a fair chance.

The Enterprise Elks Lodge once again will organize an egg hunt at the Jensen Fields behind the Safeway Store in Enterprise, starting at 10 a.m. Children in three age groups infant to age 3, ages 4 to 7 and ages 8 to 12 are invited to fill their baskets.

The Easter Bunny plans to personally oversee an egg hunt hosted by the city of Wallowa starting at 11 a.m. at Lions Club Park. The city invites children age 0 through 11 and reminds them not to forget their baskets or buckets for all the eggs.

On Easter Sunday, the community of Troy invites the whole family to its annual Old Timers Easter Picnic, starting about noon at the Troy School. The gathering is a potluck affair, so bring along a favorite dish to share. An Easter egg hunt is planned for the children.
