- Marcus Lynn goes up for two.
Excitement is back.
Exciting, high-scoring basketball is back at Enterprise High School. The boys last week crushed both their opponents in the league. The Outlaws on Jan. 7 at Union defeated the Bobcats by a score of 74-45. Back home the following day at Quinn Court, Enterprise scored a 77-51 win over Elgin.
Ive only been here since the eighth-grade, said senior J.R. Masters, whose 13 points at Union matched the team high, but its been a while since weve had this high quality kind of a team.
The Outlaws improved their record in the Blue Mountain Conference to 3-1. Three straight wins bounced them up to a five-way tie for first place. Overall, they improved to 10-1. The last victory was their fifth in a row.
Almost all of the boys got into the scoring act. Senior Jared Micka in two games tallied a total of 34 points. Junior Marcus Lynn finished with 31 points, senior Chaunce Galletly put up 25 points, senior Tyler Micka had 15. Masters banked his 13 points all at Union. That night he was one of five Outlaws to score in double-digits. Senior Kyle Stangel was another. The next night, he added another basket. Senior Matt Perren totaled 9 points over the week.
Meanwhile, reserves joined in the barrage. Senior Cole Sajonia and sophomore Cody Duquette both scored a basket each night. Against Elgin, senior Duncan Christman and sophomore Dustin Dean both found the net.
The Outlaws cashed in from long distance. Over the week, Jared Micka converted eight shots from beyond the three-point arc. Galletly made two of his attempts. Tyler Micka also hit one.
Next, Enterprise will play Jan. 14 at home against Weston McEwen.
