Wallowa County lost many residents and past residents  during 2010. Following are the deaths reported in the Chieftain by years end:

Daniel Howard Rollins, Seaside, former Wallowa football coach, died Dec. 18, 2009, at the age of 82.

Harold E. Makin, 84, died at his Lewiston, Idaho, home Dec. 31, 2009.

Don Richard Conrad, 70, of Irrigon, a native of Enterpise, died Jan. 6, 2010.

Reid Scott Johnson, 88, a third-generation Wallowa rancher, died Jan. 6, 2010.

Harriet (Hafer) Harlow, 95, Hillsboro, the daughter of Eden Bench homesteaders, died Jan. 7, 1010.

Hayne Dayton Ollis of Joseph, died Nov. 7, 2009, at age 93. (A memorial service was later held for him May 29, 2010, at the Lostine Cemetery.)

Katherine (Wilson) Brown, 79, Lebanon, a native of Enterprise, died Jan. 16, 2010.

Donald Hammack, 69, a Wallowa native, died Jan. 8, 2010.

Geneva (Sutphin) Wallsinger of La Grande, a Wallowa native, died Dec. 19, 2009.

Eunice (Scott) Gray of La Grande, a graduate of Joseph High School, died Dec. 22, 2009, at age 99.

Gary Winters, 70, a native of Joseph, died Jan. 18, 2010, in Eugene.

Mathilda Arvilla Snyder, a former Enterprise resident, died at age 89 Jan. 8, 2010, in Grangeville, Idaho.

Jerry Spainhower, 71, Enterprise, died Jan. 16, 2010.

James Bash, 73, a former Wallowa County resident, died Jan. 9, 2010. in Springfield.

Sharron Joy Zollman, 72, a former Chief Joseph Days princess, died Jan. 23, 2010.

Ron Freeman Bayless, 61, died Jan. 28, 2010, at his home in Joseph.

Kenneth Burl Kooch, 98, descendant of a pioneer family, lifelong resident and cattleman of Wallowa County, died Jan. 20, 2010.

James Trullinger, 85, died Feb. 6, 2010, at his Enterprise home.

Virgil Lee Davis, Enterprise, died Feb. 6, 2010, at age 92.

Vernon Baker, 80, a longtime Wallowa County resident, died Jan. 27, 2010.

Gordon Winters, 61, Pendleton, a Wallowa County native, died Feb. 7, 2010.

Caryl Leehman Coppin, 92, Joseph, longtime county museum chairwoman, died Feb. 16, 2010.

Carol Spence Conrad, 88, a Wallowa County native, died Feb. 15, 2010.

Violet L. Schweigert, Wallowa, died Feb. 2, 2010, at the age of 79.

Arthur Running, 93, died in Edmonds, Wash., Feb. 4, 2010.

George Orlin Barton, Wallowa, died Feb. 19, at the age of 78.

Eugene Marr, a lifelong resident of Wallowa County and former Chief Joseph Days grand marshal, died Feb. 27, 2010, at age 97.

Norman Marion McCrae, 84, a native and rancher of the Wallowa area, died Feb.19, 2010.

Betty Shelton Lewis, 77, died Feb. 23, 2010, in Wallowa.

Max Greenough, 67, of Condon, Mont., a native of Enterprise, died Feb. 7, 2010.

Matthew James Gross, 42, Joseph, a full-time member of the Oregon National Guard, died Feb. 25, 2010, in Hermiston.

Richard Atherton, 72, died Feb. 8, 2010, while traveling in Palm Springs, Calif.

Orva McFetridge Gubser, 98, a native of Enterprise, died in Alexandria, Va., March 5, 2010.

Vera Jean Brooks Miller, 81, Monmouth, a Wallowa native, died Aug. 11, 2009.

Carolyn June Niezen, 66, of Orange City, Iowa, a former Wallowa County resident, died March 7, 2010.

Bradford Blaine Botts, 91, a Flora area native, died Feb. 2010 at his Ashland home.

Archie Floyd of rural Lostine died March 19, 2010, at the age of 58.

Lowell Ross Courtney, Lostine, 71,died March 28, 2010.

William Heskett Sr., 75, Milton-Freewater, a native of Enterprise, died March 6, 2010.

Willard Nyquist, 76, Portland, an avid Wallowa County hunter, died March 26, 2010.

Dan Jarvis, 83, a former resident of Joseph, died March 22, 2010, in Forepaugh, Ariz.

Olin J. Peach, 76, Spokane, a part-time resident of the Joseph area, died April 9, 2010, in a snowmobile accident.

Lela Fordice, 92, a homesteader in the Lost Prairie area, died April 6, 2010 in Baker City.

Shannon Kenneth Dutcher, 46, who grew up in Enterprise, died April 14, 2010, in Hermiston.

Helen A. Couch, 74, La Grande, a graduate of Wallowa High School, died April 6, 2010.

Norvin M. Coles, 78, Cove, died March 23, 2010.

Earl O. Conant, 81, longtime Wallowa County resident, died April 9, 2010.

Robert V. Stoffel, 78, Enterprise, died April 21, 2010.

Curtis James Palmer, 41, an Enteprise High School graduate, died May 6, 2010, in Raleigh, N.C.

James Carl Curtis, 59, Portland, who grew up in Lostine, died June 2, 2010.

Russell C. Russ Amey, 82, Forest Grove, a native of Enterprise, died June 5, 2010.

Ralph K. Scott, 88, died June 9, 2010, at the Wallowa Valley Care Center.

William Bill C. Gallemore, 93, Lostine, died June 3, 2010.

Lois Arnhart, 94, who lived in Joseph most of her life, died June 21, 2010.

H. Duane Fuzzy Michels, 55, died June 15, 2010, in Woodburn while visiting with family.

Richard Karvoski of Yuma, Ariz., formerly of Enterprise, died June 15, 2010, at age 72.

Paul B. Morehead, 80, of Joseph, a retired logger and mill worker, died June 21, 2010.

Chrystal Dawn Crow, 31, formerly of Wallowa, died May 29, 2010 at OHSU hospital  in Portland following a lifelong battle with cystic fibrosis.

James Erwin Jones, Lincoln City, a former pastor in Enterprise, died June 15, 2010, at age 83.

Russell Lowell Miller of Wallowa died July 4, 2010, at the age of 81.

Floyd L. Butch Arquette Jr., 65, Wallowa, died July 7, 2010.

Steve Leisy of Joseph died July 9, 2010, at the age of 69.

Reba D. Storm of Enterprise died Wednesday, July 14, 2010, at the age of 80.

Alice Marie Cole, 87, a longtime Joseph resident, died July 4, 2010.

Lifelong Wallowa rancher Ruth Nina Carman died at her home July 22, 2010, at the age of 91.

Vernon C. McFetridge, 90, a native of Enterprise died in Salem July 4, 2010.

Nadine B. Bemrose, 83, of Weiser, Idaho, a former Enterprise resident, died Saturday, July 24, 2010.

Victor L Kreimeyer, of Quincy, Wash., former Wallowa County resident, died July 23, 2010, at age 89.

Emogene Esther Buckley, 88, La Grande, a former Wallowa County resident, died June 22, 2010.

Gene Leroy Poulson of Spokane, Wash., died July 31, 2010, at the age of 77 at Wallowa Lake.

Catherine Kate Wilde, a longtime Imnaha resident, died July 31, 2010, at the age of 100.

Maravene (Mary) Maurine Shumway Pickle, 81, of John Day, a native of Enterprise, died July 28, 2010.

Robert B. Hall, 62, who retired in Wallowa County, died in French Polynesia July 10, 2010.

David Eugene Rees of Enterprise died Aug. 1, 2010, at the age of 93.

Eunice Childers, 77, formerly of Joseph, died July 24, 2010, in Red Deer, Alberta, Canada.

Marjorie (McFetridge) Johnson, a longtime resident of Joseph, died Aug. 7, 2010, at the age of 90.

Vergil V. Crane, 89, of Union, a former Enterprise business owner, died Aug. 24, 2010.

John Gervaisof Hubbard died Aug. 25 in Bend at the age of 65.

Norma (Kiel) Rosenkranz, 74, of Walla Walla, Wash., a native of Joseph, died Sept. 16, 2010.

Lynn Gail Hart, 61, of La Grande died in Seattle, Wash., following a lung transplant.

Doris Baird Thomas Springer, 82, of Pendleton died Sept. 4, 2010.

Dorothy Schaeffer, the wife of a Wallowa native, died at her home in Portland at the age of 88.

Grace Johnson Moores, 86, a native of Wallowa, died in Nampa, Idaho, Sept. 27, 2010.

Marcel Walker of Enterprise died Saturday, Oct. 16, 2010, at the age of 89.

Russell Ray Dotson, 81, Joseph, died Oct. 29, 2010, while hunting with his family.

Barbara Ann Uppiano of Lostine died Oct. 30, 2010, at the age of 69.

Clebert Carter Alford, 90, who was raised in Joseph, died Oct. 23, 2010, in Portland.

Gail Sharff Allstott, 69, Beaverton, who grew up in Enterprise, died Oct. 31, 2010.
