This summer will soon offer an archery class.

Keith Newburn of Joseph will teach bow hunting, June 26 at the Joseph Fire Hall on North Wallowa Avenue. After lectures and demonstrations, students will practice their technique. In addition to bow hunting, Newburn will also share his experience and offer advanced hunting lessons.

Education is required for archery hunting in Idaho, California and Montana. Newburn expects Oregon will join them, “I have yet to have anybody, even instructors, go through the class and tell me they didn’t learn something,” he said.

The class will go from 8 a.m. to about 4 p.m., including a lunch break. Enrollment costs $10.
