It’s Free Fishing Day Saturday at Marr Pond

National Fishing Week will be celebrated in Enterprise with free fishing at Marr Pond.
Children 14 years old and younger, accompanied by adults, may fish free on Saturday, June 12.

Loaner rods and bait will be available for those who need them. Door prizes, raffle prizes, and the big fish prize will be given.
Local grocers have contributed hot dogs, chips and drinks for the free barbecue lunch again this year. There will be painting, coloring and hands-on educational activities for all ages.
Parents and children should bring sunscreen, insect repellent, hats, sunglasses, drinking water and rain gear.
Event organizers are looking for volunteers to help with lunch, registration, fishing techniques, contests and other tasks.

No license is required for anyone who wants to fish during the day. However all Oregon fishing regulations still apply.

Local civic organizations, individuals, and businesses support the event. Employees from the Oregon Department of Fish and Wildlife, Nez PerceTribe, U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service and Wallowa-Whitman National Forest along with local volunteers are assisting.
