Wallowa’s lowest scores bounce back up

Consistency will always be a challenge.
Wallowa High School’s golfers experienced the difficulty that comes along with improvement. Just one week after most of them dropped their shot totals to the lowest point of the season, they naturally bounced up. The varsity, combined, used 424 strokes April 22 to complete Wildhorse.

“We didn’t have as good a day scoring as the weather was (rough),” coach Marvin Gibbs said.
Junior Mitchell Swift led the boys. He needed 96 strokes, only two more than the previous tournament. Freshman Pierce Millar also managed to break 100. But his score jumped by 15. The varsity also took freshman Kody Swift’s 103 and senior Luke Pringle’s 126.
Other boys included sophomore Chris Swift, who posted a 112, junior Hunter Harvey at 124, and junior Tyler Chrisman 139.
Meanwhile, the girls went through similar climbs. Sophomore Breanna Wallace needed 126 shots, sophomore Shawna Chrisman 140 and sophomore Katelynn Burns 149.
The next event will be on April 30at Alpine Meadows.
