An arrest has been made with regard to the burglary of the home of Judy Anton on Old Ski Run outside of Joseph. Christopher Irvin Thacker, 24, of Enterprise was arrested by La Grande Police Department Feb. 11 and charged with felony burglary 2 and theft 2.

Another warrant for Teran Anthony Taylor, 24, of Wallowa on the same counts has not yet been served.

Both men had been “on the run” since the warrants were issued the first week in February and regular reports of sightings of the men in both Wallowa and Union County were reported, Steen said.

An arrest of Taylor, who is believed to have been injured during the commission of the crime, is expected shortly.

A multi-agency task force has been convened to investigate the other multiple buglaries of unoccupied homes in Wallowa County, according to Wallowa County Sheriff Fred Steen.

The investigation of the more than half-dozen crimes is ongoing, so Steen would not reveal any details of the investigation, saying only that they were pursuing the investigation “very vigorously.”

He was able to report that no further burglaries related to the rash that swept the county in December and January had been reported.
