After spending the last eight months attending Joseph City Council meetings and observing their often-poisonous atmosphere, I found comments in the Jan. 21 Chieftain painting Mark Lacey as a victim puzzling at best.

The mayor of Joseph and other members of the council have regularly been falsely accused by Mr. Lacey of incompetence, having secret meetings, mishandling city money and all proved not true. Could not all Mr. Lacey’s fellow councilors and the mayor plus our city recorder be classified victims for having to endure all the false charges brought against them by Lacey?

This tends to recall school days when the schoolyard bully was brought to bay and suddenly evidence would surface that somehow made him out to be the real victim. Think about it.
