Letter: It affects all of us

Editor:

The Democrat supposition that you can levy a tax on one segment of the population without the tax affecting all is ludicrous at best and downright dishonest at worse.

The so-called “rich,” as if it were a mortal sin to be wealthy, didn’t become wealthy by being stupid. This segment of society will retaliate against this socialist/ Marxist attack on their status by an all-out reduction on jobs and raises in both services and products. In the end, it will be all those supposedly immune from the tax that will end up paying the tax.

The reason all this scramble for nonexistent money is that these same Democrat/ environmentalists have all but destroyed this country’s ability to have a robust economy by, with the help of activist judges and politicians, putting a stranglehold on America’s ability to produce and therefore have a decent tax base.

Even the dunce we have for a governor realizes his “lock up all the natural resources of Oregon” is responsible for the terrible shape our forests are in and is calling for a different strategy. See the Dec. 9 article in the Observer.

We should be harvesting our forests, drilling our own oil, mining our minerals and putting to work all those unemployed during these jobs instead of following Obama’s failing policies of waving a magic wand for money we don’t have for pork-barrel projects we don’t need.

Don be fooled. We will all pay the tax being levied, one way or ther other. I vote against the upcoming tax levy.
