Ski, Snowboard & Skate Swap, Dec. 12

Published 4:00 pm Wednesday, December 2, 2009

It’s time to gear up for winter sports.

The yearly Ski, Snowboard & Skate Swap – scheduled Dec. 12 at Odd Fellows Hall in Enterprise, the building next to the city’s library – will be a market of skis, boots, poles, snowboards and clothes, as well as ice skates, hockey gear, sticks and pads. Merchandise will come from locals, as well as vendors with the Oregon Mountain Community in Portland and from Walla Walla, Wash.

The event also serves as a fundraiser. Eagle Cap Ski Club receives 50 percent of proceeds from ski and snowboard sales. Twenty percent from ice skate items supports Wallowa Valley Community Ice Rink.

Anyone can drop off used equipment between 8 a.m. and 10 a.m. Shoppers can browse and buy from 10 to 1 p.m. All unsold gear must be picked up by 2, or it will be donated to Soroptimist.
