Wallowa girls drop two games

Add two more losses to the Lady Cougars’ slide.
Over the weekend, Wallowa High School girls lost both of their basketball games in the Old Oregon League. They drove Jan. 30 to Powder Valley High, where they dropped a 45-37 decision. The next day at home, they fell 49-26 to Imbler High.
For the Lady Cougars (2-14 overall, 0-7 in the district) junior forward Meagan McKenzie averaged 6.5 points per game, sophomore Kuulei Delatori five, freshman Breanna Wallace five, freshman Rebekah Jamerson 4.5, junior Megan Goller four and freshman Skylar Waters three. Senior guard Ayesha Wortman managed two points at Powder Valley. Sophomore McKenzie Shelton chipped in three points against Imbler, while freshman Baylee Shelton had two.
Next, Wallowa girls travel Feb. 6 to Pine Eagle High in Halfway. They will return home the following day and host Cove High.
