Kids, dogs, trees, horses, cowboys, flowers and Wallowa County scenery were among favorite subjects in the second annual Wallowa County Digital Photo Contest, which attracted 232 entries by the time it closed Feb. 1.
There are now 180 photos in the Adult division and 52 photos in the Student on display in the online gallery at the Wallowa County Chieftain Web site, (Click Here). People’s Choice votes will be accepted – only one per e-mail address in each division – through the Chieftain site through Feb. 15
Last year there were a total of 270 entries in the contest. Up to five photograph entries were allowed per photographer.
A first, second and third place photograph in both age divisions will be announced as Best Photos and People’s Choice winners in the Feb. 26 issue of the Chieftain. Prizes are $40, $20 and $10, plus gift certificates. Honorable mentions may be awarded at the discretion of the judges from the Wallowa Valley Club and Wallowa County Chieftain. Best Photo judging will be based on artistic merit and technical quality. In case of a tie, winners with the same number of votes will receive the same prize.
As many of the winners as possible will be published in the Chieftain.
