‘Logger’s Daughter’ airs Feb. 5

Residents get sneak peak in Wallowa, PBS broadcast Feb. 9Gwen Trice of Enterprise, who is immersed in documenting the history of the logging town of Maxville, is the subject of an upcoming Oregon Public Broadcasting documentary titled “Oregon Experience: The Logger’s Daughter.”
Producer Eric Cain will host two public screenings of the documentary at 3 p.m. and 6:30 p.m. Feb. 5 at the Wallowa Senior Center.
Trice will be on hand to answer questions. The screenings are free and open to the public.
OPB describes Trice as “an African-American woman, born and raised in Eastern Oregon” who “sets out to explore her family’s past. OPB follows her as she explores the long-dead logging community of Maxville in Wallowa County and the handful of people who remember the 1920s town, where her father and grandfather lived and worked.”
The feature will be aired on the OPB channel at 9 p.m. Monday, Feb. 9.
