Pacific Power recently paid its annual property tax bill to Oregon’s counties, schools, cities and special districts, including $133,236 in Wallowa County.

Statewide, the power company wrote checks topping $17 million.

The power provider is one of the largest property tax payers in Oregon.

The tax payments are based on the investments made by Pacific Power in the utility property and assets necessary to provide electric service to its customers. The company’s investment ranges from power plants, transmission lines and distribution circuits to transformers and meters. With a largely rural, statewide footprint, Pacific Power’s payments benefit 30 of Oregon’s 36 counties.
