Home loans available to Wallowa County residents from USDA

USDA Rural Housing Guaranteed Loans are available for low- to moderate-income individuals or households in Wallowa County, according to the U.S. Department of Agriculture.

Applicants can obtain 100 percent financing with no down payment to build, purchase new or purchase existing dwellings. Loans are for 30 years and the lender must determine repayment feasibility using ratios. Housing must be modest in size, design and cost. There is no loan limit other than having the appropriate repayment ratios. Loans are made by approved guaranteed lenders.

Households must be without adequate housing, be able to afford the mortgage payments including taxes and insurance, and must have reasonable credit histories. Loans may be made to qualified low-income persons in Wallowa County in the following amounts: One person family, $27,050; two-person, $30,900; three-person, $34,800; four-person, $38,650; five-person, $41,750; six-person, $44,850; seven-person, $47,950 and eight-person, $51,000. Loans may be made to qualified moderate-income persons in the following amounts: One person family, $49,550; two-person, $56,600; three-person, $63,700; four-person, $70,750; five-person, $76,400; six-person, $82,050; seven-person, $87,750 and eight-person, $93,400.
