As of Dec. 20, Phil Sheahan will step down as the Director of Athletics in the Enterprise School District.

During the fall, Sheahan informed Principal Blake Carlson of his decision to leave the position so that he could have time to raise his new daughter, Hannah. After her birth in July, Phil attempted to continue organizing sports for Enterprise High School, junior high and elementary. Meanwhile his wife, Emily, returned to work as a doctor at Wallowa Mountain Medical in Joseph. But time became an issue.

“This fall was so busy,” Phil said. “I found I kept asking her to adjust her schedule and that didn’t make any sense.

“I told Blake, I’d keep working until he found somebody else.”

Recently, Randy Morgan agreed to take over athletics. The longtime music teacher at Enterprise, he also coached football until 2004. Morgan also coached the Enterprise-Joseph softball team in 2005 and 2006.
