PGE Foundation awards $5000 to Wallowa Resources

Wallowa Resources is the recipient of a $5,000 grant from the PGE Foundation, the corporate foundation of Portland General Electric.
These funds provide critical operating support that benefits all of the organization’s programs – from the education of K-12 graders, to land restoration and stewardship projects throughout Wallowa County.

Wallowa Resources mission is to “Promote Land and Community Stewardship: The Idea, the Practice and the Jobs.” It develops and implements innovative solutions to help the people of Wallowa County and the Intermountain West sustain and improve their communities and their lands.
Wallowa Resources is a 12-year-old community-based non-profit 501 (c)(3) organization created by the citizens of Wallowa County to provide local leadership in the search for sustainable livelihoods. Wallowa Resources offer programs in natural resource education, natural resource stewardship and business development opportunities.
The PGE Foundation’s permanent endowment provides support to Oregonians in perpetuity. Since its inception in 1997, the foundation has awarded $12 million in grants, ranging from programs that give children a healthier life to efforts that bring the arts to rural communities.
