The deadline to sign up for the 2008 Northeast Oregon Prevention Conference, hosted by the Wallowa Together Project, has been extended to Thursday, Oct. 2. A limited number of partial scholarships are still available, with a special rate offered to all Wallowa County residents.

The three-day event will features a series of workshops centered around prevention issues.

Presenters are professionals from agencies and organizations around the region dealing with law enforcement, alcohol and drug prevention, social services and family problems.

The conference is scheduled 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Wednesday and Thursday, Oct. 8 and 9, and 8 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Friday , Oct. 10, at the First Baptist Church in Enterprise.
