The 2008 Wallowa County Fair ended with a big bang, another record year for the 4-H/FFA Stock Sale.

“There was excellent support. The community did what it always does, and that is support the kids,” said Wallowa County Extension agent John Williams.

The 2008 auction brought in $170,901 for 116 market animals, a sizable jump from the previous record of $157,904 in bids last year for 117 animals. Sixty-one hogs sold for $79,310, while 23 steers brought in $70,229 and 32 lambs drew $21,362 in bids.

Following is a list of FFA and 4-H exhibitors, the amount they received per pound for their market animal and the buyer.
