Golf tourney open for CJD

The Wallowa County Shrine Club will sponsor the annual Chief Joseph Days golf tournament, July 25, at Alpine Meadows in Enterprise.
The competition is open to everyone over 18 years old. Including handicap scoring, there will be three flights for men and one for women. Golfers can win prizes for long drives, shots closest to a pin, holes with a specially marked “diddle ball,” the lowest gross and net tallies.
The entry fee is $40. Forms are available at the course clubhouse. For more information, call managers Ken or Sue Storm at 426-3246.

Also, the Joseph Chamber of Commerce is still looking for teams of wild-cow milkers to compete in this year’s Chief Joseph Days Rodeo on Friday and Saturday nights. The competition is open to Wallowa County residents only. Winners will receive a belt buckle and a cash prize. For more information, contact Fred Steen, 426-5909.
