- Wallowa Mountain Quilt Show
Over 150 colorful quilts will make the Joseph High School gym bloom for the 16th annual Wallowa Mountain Quilt Show.
Quilts of all descriptions, from traditional to modern works of art, ranging in size from miniature to king-sized are displayed June 13-14 at the high school on the hill at the end of William E. Williams Ave. in Joseph. The show opens at 10 a.m. both days, closing at 6 p.m. Friday and 5 p.m. Saturday. Admission is $3.

Everyone is invited to vote for their favorites in several divisions. Winners are determined by popular vote, and ribbons will go up on the quilts at noon on Saturday.
Down the hall from the spectacular quilt exhibit, quilt supply vendors will set up in the cafeteria, where desserts and coffee also will be available.
This year’s featured quilter will be Nancy Rowley of Elk, Wash., a quilt pattern designer who will demonstrate her special techniques during the show.
For the first time, a shuttle will take visitors back and forth from the high school to downtown Joseph, where the Oregon Mountain Cruise car rally will be taking place on the same day.
Car parking for the quilt show is available at the south side of the school (no RVs are allowed there) or in the school parking lot.
The show is sponsored by the Wallowa Mountain Quilters Guild, a busy group of about 50 quilters who will raffle off a quilt they made with an outdoors motif. Tickets are available at the show. For more information, contact quilt show chairperson Betty Whitehead at 541-398-1266.
