Harriet Irene (Horton) Scott, 90, of Wallowa, died May 15 at the Wallowa Memorial Hospital. Graveside services will begin at 1 p.m. Monday, May 26 at Wallowa Cemetery. Loveland Funeral Chapel is in charge of arrangements.

Harriet was born Nov. 17, 1917, in Deary, Idaho, the sixth of seven children. On June 8, 1936, she married Duard Thomas Scott. They had three children, five grandchildren and six great-grandchildren: son Tom Scott and his wife, Betty, of Yuma, Ariz., their children Toya and Ted Perry of Richland, WA, Tom and Nancy Scott of Stonewood, Wash, Tricia Koehn of La Grand; daughter Joyce Baker and her husband, Melvin, of Weiser, Idaho; their children, Kenneth and Bobbie Baker of Wallowa, Shawna and Marcus Phillipis of Boise, Idaho; and daughter Janice Salsberry and her husband, Larry, of Richland, Wash.

After their marriage, the couple moved on to their ranch in the hills of Wallowa where they lived for over 50 years. Harriet took great pride in caring for her home and her family. She was not only a rancher’s wife, but a rancher herself, working along side Duard in the daily operations of the ranch. Harriet loved to watch birds and to be in the woods looking at the trees, flowers and all wildlife.

Harriet is survived by her children and their spouses. She was preceded in death by her husband, Duard, in 2005, and her siblings.

Memorial contributions may be made in lieu of flowers to the American Diabetes Association. Loveland Funeral Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
