Girl Scout cookies to go on sale

Those little green cookie-mongers are back.
But then, if you’re the parent, relative or neighbor of a Girl Scout, you already knew that, because all those boxes are now in your garage.
Well, clear some space. Those tasty little waistline-expanders – and the cute little girls in green who hawk them – are back.
Yes, it’s that time of year again, when 10 little girls will be out scouring the county looking for customers starving for Thin Mints, Tagalongs and those caramel-coconut things nobody can remember the name of.
Because there are fewer local Brownie and Cadet Scouts than in the past, leader Teresa Campbell plans to have them sell cookies at booths at different locations throughout the county, so residents who want cookies will be able to find them.
The schedule so far is as follows: from noon to 3 p.m., Saturday, March 1, Mount Joseph Family Foods, Joseph; noon to 3 p.m., Saturday, March 8, Shell Mercantile, Wallowa; 2 to 4 p.m. Friday, March 14, and 10 to 11:45 a.m. Saturday, March 15, at basketball tournament, Quinn Court foyer, Enterprise; and noon to 3 p.m. Saturday, March 15, Dollar Stretcher, Enterprise.
A date at Safeway Store in Enterprise hasn’t been scheduled yet. The Blonde Strawberry in Wallowa, and possibly other businesses, will have an inventory on hand to help out the Girl Scouts. For more information, call 426-3294.
