In the Aug. 2, 2007 issue of the Chieftain, I wrote an article questioning what happened to the American flags that used to line Main Street in Joseph during certain times of the year. I also announced that I had opened an account at Community Bank and that I was going to start raising funds to purchase new American flags for the street lights of Joseph.

I am so excited to be able to share with you that, as of Feb. 1, 2008, the goal of $2,500 has been met. I will issue a check to the Joseph City Council at their March meeting.

From my heart, I want to thank all of you who made this possible.This is a good example of what we, the people, can do if we believe in the cause.
