Red Rocket Hobby Shop has moved down the street and expanded into new headquarters at 118 W. Main St. in Enterprise. Owner Matt Cross has been retailing remote-control airplanes, helicopters, boats and cars from Wallowa County since 2004, doing the majority of his business sales over the internet at (www.redrockethobbies.com)

, and through a contract with Amazon.com. Cross said being based in the valley works very well for this type of business.

Shipments are made daily from Enterprise and through distributor locations in California and Illinois, making delivery anywhere in the U.S. possible in two to three days.

Aside from remote-control mainstays, Red Rocket offers general hobby items such as jigsaw puzzles and educational toys. The new location provides retail space on the ground floor, a loft for office space and a basement warehouse to accommodate the expanding business.

The hobby shop currently employs three Wallowa County residents, expects that to increase soon, and hires additional help during the holiday season.
