Youth cooking program set

The next session of the 4-H After School Cooking Program through the Wallowa County Extension Service is scheduled to get underway this month.
Youths in grades four through six interested in learning to prepare healthy nutritious snacks are invited to sign up for groups in Enterprise, Wallowa and Joseph.
Other topics to be covered include the food pyramid, basic nutrition concepts, proper kitchen safety and hygiene and how to use simple kitchen equipment, including small electrical appliances.
Participants will meet from 3:30 p.m. to 5 p.m. on different days of the week, with each session slated to run for six weeks.
Twill meet on Tuesdays in the Joseph Methodist Church, beginning Jan. 24 and ending Feb. 28.
The Enterprise group will meet on Wednesdays at Cloverleaf Hall beginning Jan. 25. The session will end March 1. Transportation is available from Enterprise Elementary School to Cloverleaf Hall.
The after school program will meet in Wallowa at the Wallowa Christian Church on Thursdays, beginning Jan. 26 and concluding March 2.
