A new event has been added to the 2005 Spokane Ag Expo: a photography contest celebrating agriculture. Shutterbugs of all ages are asked to submit entries depicting “Agriculture in the Inland Northwest.” Entries must be submitted by December 10, 2004 and will be displayed at Spokane Ag Expo, which is held in the Spokane Veteran’s Memorial Arena, Convention and Ag Trade Centers. The dates of the show are January 11, 12, and 13, 2005.
“The Inland Northwest has a great diversity of agriculture and scenery,” said Show Director David Bauermeister. “This contest allows for the celebration of this diversity while recognizing area residents with an eye for creativity.” Prizes for winning entries include cash and photography equipment and services. Two categories will be awarded – adult and youth (under 18 years old).
Contestants are asked to submit either color or black and white prints (minimum size of 8 X 10 inches and maximum size of 11 X 14 inches.) Photos may be mounted on cardboard or matting (not framed) with no more than four photos entered by a contestant. Winners in each category will be judged by area photographers, based on theme, composition and creativity. Contest rules and entry forms can be found at www.agshow.org.
Spokane Ag Expo is the largest farm machinery show in the Inland Northwest, with 300 exhibitors utilizing over 120,000 square feet of show space. The show includes over seventy seminars, speakers, and a panel discussion on current cattle issues.
