Savages fall to Bobcats

Enterprise volleyballers lost 3-0 to a strong Union squad in league play on Friday.
Despite a grimly-fought third game in which the Savages, coming off a win over Joseph on Tuesday, briefly led 15-9, the Bobcats shut them out 25-17, 25-16 and 25-20.
Facing hot Union serving and an aggressive offense, Enterprise lost any momentum it may have had. Union really was hot, with Chelsea Herron 19 for 19 with two aces and Randa Williams going nine for nine.
“Union had a few good plays, and we had a few bad ones,” EHS coach Tammy Crawford said of the game. “There were just too many errors. We weren’t as sharp as we needed to be.” Crawford said that defensive errors were the root cause of the loss.
“We couldn’t sustain the quality of play we needed to win,” Crawford summed up.
