ADVERTISEMENT FOR BIDS

The City of Enterprise invites bids for the construction of a new entrance on the city’s Public Library. The work consists primarily of architectural grade concrete steps and walls. Only contractors specializing in this type of work will be allowed to bid.

General information about this project and submission of bids is as follows:

1. A bidder’s packet may be obtained from Wallowa Mountain Engineering, 121 W. Main, P. O. Box 266, Enterprise, Oregon 97828 (Phone 541-426-4085) for a non refundable fee of $20.00. The contact person for this project is Ralph Swinheart, PE, at the above address.

2. An on site bidders’ meeting will be held at the Enterprise Public Library on September 2, 2004 at 10:00 a.m.

3. Bids must be submitted to the City of Enterprise, 108 NE 1st St., Enterprise, Oregon 97828 before 4:00 p.m. September 14, 2004, at which time they will be publicly opened and read aloud. Bids must be submitted on bid forms provided in the bidder’s packet and be in accordance with the provisions of the Contact Documents. The Enterprise City Council will hold a special meeting on September 16, 2004, at 5:30 p.m. to consider award of the bid.

4. The project requires payment of Oregon prevailing wage rates if the contract price exceeds $25,000. The completion date for the work shall be 60 days from issuance of a Notice to Proceed with work.

PUBLIC NOTICE

The Wallowa City Council will hold a variance hearing regarding a variance request by Frank Chambers at the regular City Council meeting September 21, 2004, at 7:00 p.m., at the Wallowa Senior Center. Mr. Chambers is requesting a variance on the setback requirements of the Wallowa Zoning Ordinance.

The location of the hearing is accessible to the disabled. Please contact City Hall at (541) 886-2422, if you need any special accommodations to attend or participate in the meeting.

Frank Chambers’ variance application and the City Zoning Ordinance can be reviewed anytime, Monday through Thursday from 8:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. and 12:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. and on Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 12 p.m. and 12:30 p.m. to 4 p.m.

Wallowa County is seeking bids for the purchase of a 2004 or 2005 shop truck, cab and chassis only, for the Wallowa County Road Dept. Specifications are available at the Wallowa County Public Works, 619 Marr Pond Lane, Enterprise, OR 97828.

Sealed buds will be received by Sandy Lathrop, Executive Assistant for the Wallowa County Board of Commissioners until 12:00 noon, September 17, 2004. Bids will be opened for review on September 17, 2004, at 12:00 noon, and will be considered for award on Monday, September 20, 2004, at 8:00 a.m.

Your bids must be submitted in a sealed envelope addressed to the Wallowa County Board of Commissioners, 101 S. River St., Rm. 202, Enterprise, OR 97828, and should be clearly marked on the outside of the envelope, “Shop Truck for Road Dept. – to be opened on September 17, 2004, at 12:00 noon.” Further information may be obtained at the Wallowa County Public Works Office at 619 Marr Pond Lane, Enterprise, OR 97828, or by calling 541-426-3332.

REQUEST FOR PROPOSAL

BUILDING OVERSEER

Wallowa County is seeking to contract with a qualified individual to oversee the completion of the Wallowa County Public Safety Building project. The individual chosen for the position must demonstrate successful experience with overseeing a public safety building construction project. Duties include facilitating communication, overseeing construction and administering grants.

A detailed scope of work is available at the Wallowa County Administrative Services Department, Wallowa County Courthouse, 101 S. River Street, Room 205, Enterprise, OR 97828, until 5:00 p.m., September 3, 2004. Applicant must reply with a letter stating their qualifications by Sept. 9, 2004.
